Why.
Nowadays uprising of the NFT digital art is shaping toward a concept of art as intangible, digital, and immutable but can we go in the opposite direction?
This project attempts to translate a purely digital entity into something concrete and tangible. And it all starts with a video, a means that, with the advancement of technology, has increasingly abandoned the hand and human error.
“Thermal Hong Kong” is my first NFT series that deconstructed a video into singular frames printed on thermal paper and, for this reason, they are destined to degrade, fade and eventually disappear over time.
Thermal NFT is an ephemeral series.
How.
The creating process of a Thermal NFT begins with the selection of significant frames from videos that represents a place for me.
After that, the selected frames are printed on thermal paper using a specific printer.
Once all frames have been printed, they get manually numbered and shaped with a cut.
Then, the frames are scanned and organized, and finally, they enter into the phase of post-production and final editing of the video.
