Mixed Media Content
An experimental mixed-media project exploring the COMPLEX Japan logo through a handmade animation process.
Starting with real receipts collected directly from the streets of Tokyo, I reworked the original logo by perforating its shapes and printing them onto individual pieces of thermal paper. The receipts were then cut, rearranged and recomposed, transforming everyday printed matter into a physical surface for the artwork.
Each frame was created and assembled by hand, using the textures, imperfections and material qualities of the receipts as an integral part of the visual language. Through this process, the original logo became something tactile and fragmented, brought back together through a frame-by-frame animation.
A study in material transformation, where an ordinary object becomes both the medium and the foundation of the work. No AI, just physical materials, experimentation and a handmade approach to animation.
